Alexander Milne Developmental Services
Alexander Milne Developmental Services is the state’s oldest Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID). The individuals that take part in the treatment at Milne are provided 24-hour care. All the individuals receive individualized and consistent programming from highly trained staff members. The staff makes it their solitary mission to ensure that each person is provided an opportunity to enhance specific skills. Activities and therapeutic programming are developed based solely on each person’s existing skills sets, strengths, and intellectual developmental capabilities, so as to ensure success. At Milne, our multidisciplinary team is also available to provide services for each individual, as is determined by their individualized service plans, such as activities of daily living, social skills, medical and health, recreational therapy, food and nutrition, psychological and behavioral, and lastly pre-vocational and employment skills. These programs are intended to identify the essential supports for successful community living. Using an individual centered approach with each person, families, employees, and the community, a fulfilling life is attainable. Our scope of services offers a wide range of programs, which provide living, working, and support services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The goal of this program is to promote a community environment that allows each person to live more independent, while fulfilling his/her life in a community setting.
